Roger Federer wins Australian Open, Murray cries (VIDEO)

It was a different ending to Australian Open that we saw last night, a different Roger Federer. Last, I could not even watch the presentation ceremony once Roger started crying. To this day, I have not seen the full footage of that Federer breakdown. As an avid fan, I find it hard to watch it.

But last night was different. Roger was all smiles as he defeated Andy Murray in the finals of the Australian Open 2010. And he did it in straight sets against the British number one and world number five who vanquished
Rafael Nadal on his way to the finals. But Federer was in his element last night, playing the consistent quality of tennis he is known for.

I must admit that I was nervous as the finals started. Andy Murray was in form throughout the tournament and the way he defeated Nadal made many Federer fans nervous. He has defeated the Swiss ace several times in the past and looked like a formidable foe capable of an upset. But once Roger won the first set, I knew he would win the tournament.

It was Murray's turn to be emotional this time, choking back tears. In fact, he abruptly finished his speech as he was getting too emotional. Having been in the same position last year, Roger understood and gave him some encouragement when it was his turn to speak. All of these are captured on video we can watch below.

Federer vs Murray Australian Open video highlights: looking for Federer's win at the Australian Open? Watch Roger Federer vs Andy Murray highlights video below, including some highlights from the tournament for the Swiss ace and Murray's speech.

Katie Holmes in So You Think You Can Dance 100th episode

The news is out. Katie Holmes, aka Mrs. Tom Cruise, is set to appear in So You Think You Can Dance. Her SYTYCD appearance is reportedly coinciding with the show's 100th episode which is this week. According to Us Magazine, Holmes will be paying tribute to Judy Garland by performing Get Happy from her 1950 musical, Summer Stock. It has been revealed that she has been rehearsing for SYTYCD for several days now, with husband Tom Cruise dropping by to watch a few times.

I have never heard Katie Holmes sing nor seen her dance so this will be a first time for me. Frankly, I didn't think she had such talent before I read
about this piece of news. Hope she does well.

Also from the Us magazine report, Holmes will be wearing an all-black outfit similar to what Judy Garland wore in the musical - black velvet fedora, patent leather heels, nylon stockings, body-hugging skirt and micro-mini skirt. Can't wait to watch the video of this performance. Will tom be in the audience? And Suri too?

2009 Wimbledon semifinal results: all-Williams Wimbledon final

Elena Dementieva tried her best to stop Serena Williams in the 2009 Wimbledon semifinal meeting but she came up short. In the other match, Dinara Safina was crushed by Venus Williams to set up another sister act finals just like last year.

Elene Dementieva looked like she was going to do it, winning the first set in a tie-break. Her serve has improved a lot since I last saw her play and she seemed to be stronger in the ground strokes area as well. Serena, on the other hand, wasn't looking as invincible as in her previous matches. But in the second and third sets, Serena won the big points, and
won the rallies when it mattered, squeaking past Dementieva in a semifinal match that looked more like a final to me.

Though I love the Williams sisters, I found myself cheering for Elena Dementieva not only for the vast improvement I saw in her game but because I think she deserves to win. Having been called the best active female player without a slam, I wanted her to win. But alas, she blew some of her chances much to the dismay of many in the Centre Court crown who were hoping to avert another Williams domination.

But a domination is what we saw in the other semifinal match with Venus destroying world number 1 Dinara Safina with a score of 6-1, 6-0. It is probably the most crushing defeat ever handed a reigning world number 1 at Wimbledon. Dinara was imply outclassed by Venus whose power and athleticism shined in almost every point.

I feel sorry for Dinara. I was also hoping she would rise above her demons and conquer her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon. I sure hope she learned something here. I wonder what the men's semifinal has in store for us tomorrow.

A snake kills a baby in Florida: python strangles baby to death

A two-year old has been killed by a snake, a Burmese python to be exact. The snake reportedly strangled the baby until it died. But this is a not a wild snake we're talking about here but a pet who broke out of its aquarium.

According to reports, the Burmese python broke out in the middle of the night. The baby's parents woke up the next morning and saw the snake strangling their child. They tried to stop it by stabbing it repeatedly. However, the child was already dead by then. Paramedics who arrived failed to revive the strangled baby. The python would have eaten the child had he not been
stopped because that's what they usually do. Constrictors first strangle their prey and crush them with their bodies before eating them. Reports say the python slithered away and is missing.

This is a horrible story that shouldn't have happened. For one thing, animals like this shouldn't be kept as pets. Sure, they're cute when they're small but once they grow to their adult size they're not that cute anymore, and very hard to take care of at that. They require large amounts of food and if not fed enough they turn to their handlers. Some pet owners who cannot tale care of their overgrown pets just release them to the wild. And that's what many areas have right now, a population of wild animals left to fend for themselves and reproduce. And because many of these former pets are exotic animals not native to their new surroundings, over populations usually ends up destroying the ecological balance of the area.

As to the incident that just happened, I think the parents of this baby should be prosecuted for negligence. They have to be held accountable for their irresponsibility.

Michael Jackson's last will and testament: mom gets his children

Interest in Michael Jackson's last will and testament has been high ever since the King of Pop died. The will should solve a lot of problems for those he left behind, and it would answer many questions as well. Who gets what, and more importantly, were will Michael Jackson's children go. What does the will say about custody of the children - Prince Michael, Paris Michael Katherine and Prince Michael II aka Blanket.

According to reports, on June 29, Joe and Katherine Jackson filed legal papers in court seeking to obtain the rights to handle their son's property as they believed their the King of Pop died "intestate," or
without a valid will. However, on the same day John Branca, Michael's attorney, claimed he possesses the most current will of the singer.

One of the most striking things about Michael's will is that he left nothing to his father, Joe Jackson. Nothing, as in nada. This is understandable knowing how he felt about his father and he has said in many occasions that Joe Jackson mistreated him when he was a child.

The will, believed to be signed by the King of Pop in 2002, reveals that Katherine Jackson has been appointed as guardian for his three children. The will also says that if Katherine died before him or couldn't serve as guardian, he nominates his idol and long-time friend Diana Ross to be their guardian. This is a testament to how Michael felt about Diana who he not only considered a friend but a second mother.

Named executors of his estate were music executive and family friend John McClain and Branca. Additionally, the late superstar left all his assets to the Michael Jackson Family Trust, stating, "I give my entire estate to the Trustee or Trustees..." The names of the trustees have not been revealed.
